World Animal Day
4th October ...
10th December
Human Rights Day comes on the 10th of December, and it serves to commemorate the day the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948 (UDHR). The UDHR is considered a milestone document that proclaims and outlines the fundamental and the inalienable rights which everyone is entitled to as a human being.
Human Rights comprehend a series of fundamental rights such as: the right to life and naturally liberty; freedom from slavery, but also among these rights are included freedom of opinion and expression, and the right to work, and the right to have a proper education. All these rights are recognized and included in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which recalls that without human dignity there can be no sustainable development.
It is important to stress that human rights are at the core of the Sustainable Development Goals adopted by the UN. As it was argued, the absence of human dignity represent an obstacle to the achievement of sustainable development for humanity. Human Rights themselves are driven by progress on all the SDGs.
