International Polar Bear Day

27th February

International Polar Bear Day comes on February 27th and to raise awareness about the Polar Bear and the threat its habitat is facing due to climate change and global warming.

Organized by “Polar Bears International”, the day encourages people to find ways to reduce their carbon output: for example lowering our home’s thermostat or, drive less our car.

The effects of climate change (in particular global warming and the consequent reduction of sea ice) are deleterious and harmful to the natural habitat of polar bears and, consequently for the polar bears existence. It is up to men to take concrete action in order to preserve the future of these magnificent mammals that could become extinct before reaching the 22nd century.
